Name of Magic: Amaterasu
Type/Subtype of Magic: Caster Magic
Current Rank: D-rank
Description: Amaterasu is an extremely complex caster style magic that Kenshin learnt to use from an extremely old scroll that he'd stolen from the largest and most well known magic store in Starlight city, and so far he has yet to come across another user of Amaterasu or another copy of the scroll that he'd learnt it from. But despite that Amaterasu is not a lost magic, it is just an extremely rare form of magic that is rarely ever seen in magic stores, and the reason for this is simple, despite the great power that Amaterasu possesses it is one of the most complex styles of magic that one can ever hope to learn. Amaterasu is a magic that allows its users to create various magical effects that are known as formula's, and these formula's are generally some form of magical explosion. The formula's are performed by using certain hand patterns, or mudras, and the more skilled the mage the less mudras they have to use. After the user performs the mudras required for the formula the magic seal of Amaterasu will appear, and unlike most magic's the seal of Amaterasu differs in appearance depending on which formula is used. The color of the Amaterasu seals are a dark purple, and the effects that the magic creates are the same color
Information:
Strengths:
- One of the greatest strengths that Amaterasu has is the fact that it is an extremely offensive form of magic, and as such it has a great deal of offensive qualities and offers a massive amount of offensive spells
- Because Amaterasu is explosive in nature it is strong against anything with physical substance, such as wood, earth, water, etc
- When Amaterasu is used it's damage can be increased by the objects that are in the area of the blast as it can send deadly chunks of debris and shrapnel flying
Weaknesses:
- Because of Amaterasu's explosive nature it is weak against anything without physical substance, such as light, shadow, etc
- While one of Amaterasu's greatest strengths is the fact that it's an extremely offensive type of magic, it is also one of its greatest weaknesses, as it possesses almost no defensive or supplementary qualities
- The debris and shrapnel that Amaterasu sends flying are not only a risk to Kenshin's enemies, it is also a huge risk to Kenshin himself
- The greatest weakness of Amaterasu is the fact that it is not performed instantly, as if the user is stopped before they can perform all of the required mudras then the spell will fail
- Due to the explosive nature of Amaterasu it cannot be performed stealthily
- Amaterasu is an incredibly dangerous magic that generally covers a large area and sends deadly pieces of debris flying in all directions, meaning that there is an incredibly high risk factor for everybody in the area, including allies and innocent bystanders
Traits:
- Amaterasu Mastery: As Kenshin performs higher level spells he must perform more mudras in order for them to succeed (D-rank spells use 1 mudras, C-rank spells use 2, B rank spells use 3, and A-rank spells use 4, and S-rank spells use 5)
- Amaterasu Immunity: Because of the nature of his magic Kenshin's body has adapted to the point that he is completely immune to the effects of his own spells
- Shrapnel: When an Amaterasu spell is used the resulting explosion will send shrapnel flying in all directions, the shrapnel created by the spell moves at a speed equal to the base power of that spells rank and causes damage equal to half of the spells base power
- Reduced speed: When an Amaterasu spell hits someone it can cause their speed to be cut in half for two posts if their endurance is not equal to the base power of the spells rank, and if the base power of the spells rank is more than double the endurance of the person hit by the spell then they become completely paralyzed for two posts, but this will only work once on each person in a thread
