Anything Special: Robert is missing his left eye, leaving behind a black, hollow eye socket. Thankfully, he covers the horrible hole with an eye patch.
Personality: Robert has been considered by many as something of a joke. Despite his age, he often partakes in childish pranks and dirty jokes and other types of immature merriment. Robert is the type of person whom one could go to at anytime and realistically ask him to join in on a drinking game or even a silly board game (his Monopoly skills are on fleek). He's not an immature person though, but just a very content and happy man.His type of happiness is not a superficial one however. He does not seek his joy from positive circumstance or reinforcement from his loved one. Instead, it derives from a feeling of genuine fulfillment of his life. That is to say, Robert can look back on his life of journeys and accomplishments and feel an innate happiness over how his life has gone.
What makes Robert's nature so unique is his lack of ambition. He doesn't seek out seas of gold, reigns of power, or any other sort of grandeur. He'd rather stay at whatever place he's made his home and enjoy his day in some wasteful but gleeful fashion. Part of what's made him so apathetic to grand goals would certainly be his age. He feels it better to leave the adventuring to the younger generations. Most of it, however, is a result of contentment with his current life. Robert is perfectly happy with himself and what he's done, so he doesn't see much point in seeking out renown and fortune. Whereas his lack of ambition can be perceived in a negative light by many, it can come off as a blessing to others. With no desire to rise up in any form, his allies can count on him not to betray them over a corrupt desire for power and wealth.
Even in the face of combat, Robert doesn't change much. He's still a care-free person without much worry in his bone. It's not uncommon for him to enjoy fights like a young boy having fun in some friendly brawl in the sense that he avoids sadistic attack and often approaches with a "have fun" attitude. It makes it quite evident to his opponents at times that he probably doesn't mean any lethal harm. They should not be lulled into a sense of security however; Robert is known to take advantage of his own opponents' carelessness to control the flow of battle to his liking. It's the sort of maneuvering that can make him the most frustrating. When presented with a team to fight alongside him, he is only more so optimistic and playful. In such times, one might consider him a beacon of confidence in hopeless battles.
Likes:
-Studying: Despite how happily aloof he might appear, Robert enjoys gaining knowledge on all subjects. He loves to study geography, magical arts, the history of music, etc. His extensive knowledge on various subjects is not well known, even to many of his friends, out of his own humility and reluctance to show off that one particular aspect of himself.
-Gardening: Robert's prime, peaceful hobby is gardening. It's one of the handful of things he lamented not being able to do during his years of travels. Unlike studying, it requires much less brainpower, and it gives him something to enjoy when all is said and done. Naturally, it helps fulfill his innate desire to raise and create something.
-The Ocean: Robert appreciates the ocean as a place of absolute freedom and relaxation combined. Were he to sail out, he could do as he pleases upon his vessel, happily fish with out a care, and simply enjoy the whether.
Dislikes:
-Comments on His Hair: Robert's green hair stands out, no doubt. After being asked, "What's with your hair," a million times, however, he's gotten into a habit of becoming agitated over it.
-Comments on His Eye: Almost as noticeable as his hair is the fact that he's missing an eye. Just like with his hair, he's become rather jaded over explaining and showing what the hole in his head looks like.
-Shallow People: Shallow people see no depth in the world. They cannot get past physical appearance, superficial details, or selfish desires. They are one of the few types of people Robert has little patience for.
Motivations:
-Universal Happiness: Without any desire to obtain a tangible goal, Robert has instead turn to goals more selfless than usual. He hopes he can somehow present a way for all people to be happy, preferably through the spread of positiveness while discouraging negativeness. It's not a realistic goal, and he knows it, but he's content with just presenting a few people in the world with a way of being happy, whatever it might be.
Fears:
-Regret: As a man so fulfilled by his own life, Robert is naturally fearful of being consumed with any kind of regret that would impede on his otherwise happy life.
-Loss of Freedom: Robert is one who doesn't waste his freedom, a type of person who's most gleeful that he can walk about without the fear of being put to a sword. Having traveled all across the continent, he very aware of what life without liberties would be like and, frankly, it's horrifying to him.
-Loss of Peace: In a world of magic, it is rare for an age of peace to exist. It would seem that there is always some great villain or natural calamity at the door, making Robert appreciate the few moments that world is at rest... and quite anxious over the possible loss of those moments.
