On a day just like any other, the sky was clear with the sun beaming down on the world below with a fiery passion. It was just the morning, soon to turn noon with a few hours to past. In a forest, a little ways off from a nearby town, full of high trees and nature to gaze upon, was currently the young Kyete’s playground. He was around the age of 6, his elf ears beginning to grow in and stick out, though they weren't as pointy as the usual elf. This forest was discovered by Kyete a few months ago, and was an area full of adventure. It was massive, arcs of land untouched by the human’s work, and Kyete’s own little playground. He would always go a certain direction, marking trees and such to retrace his tracks back home while going deeper into the forest and seeing different findings daily. This particular day however, Kyete decided it was time to take a sharp turn right, where he would always find his main tracking tree, one of the biggest forest trees he's ever seen. It would spice things up and allow Kyete to potentially discover a new zone that was beside the forest. Not to his knowledge however, would this change Kyete’s life forever.
Walking towards this new destination, taking sight of the trees and animals that followed in this immense forest, Kyete was taken aback by suddenly seeing what seemed to be the end of the forest. 5 feet in front of him was a row of high bush patches, and light behind these bushes indicating the sun. The trees in this forest were so high they actually blocked off most of the sun entirely, besides a few openings every now and then. So this indication was painfully obvious, and Kyete’s curiousity overcame him rather quickly, and he walked through the bushes with interest and a perplex look with it. Walking through that bush, he was brought to a meadow like area. Their were many flowers, of different shapes and colors, that danced with the direction of the wind visible throughout the meadow. Along with this, their were giant boulders throughout the meadow, though they weren't as reoccurring as the flowers. A off side stream could also be seen, leading off through the meadow and off the forest side Kyete was walking towards. Though it was a relatively large meadow, the forest outweighed its size surrounding the entire meadow in a circular type of fashion.
Some ways off, their was a man of considerable height, facing one of these gigantic boulders. The Boulder was at least 2 times his height. Kyete watched in awe some steps behind the Man, just watching to see what he will do. It seemed like the man was preparing to attack said boulder, though he was extremely muscular, the boulder just looked too big. However, as he raised his fist, it began to form a lightning like substance, before he drilled his fist through the rock, and fully destroyed it from the inside. The sight surprised Kyete unlike any other, and also made him want to do the same and have such strength. In a playful tone, Kyete began to copy the man’s recent acts, winding up his fist before punching it into thin air. He would make action like noises before the punch, indicating a dramatic rise before his hammer like fist hit the imaginary boulder. The commotion Kyete was bringing up only caught the man’s attention, turning to look directly at Kyete. He gave Kyete a warm smile, before walking up to him and greeting the boy.
“Hello young one. Why is it that you’re out here, so deep in the woods?” The voice he inhabited was deep, strong, and masculine. He also portrayed the sound of a parent's curiosity, wondering why their child did what they did.
“I was just playing in the forest. My hometown is a few ways that way, and I've been coming here as my play area, and exploring the whole forest!” Kyete pointed towards the direction he came while explaining where he came from, and also followed suite with big gestures with his hands how he explored the forest and such. “But why are you here Mister? And how did you punch that boulder with lightning out of nowhere? I've never seen magic like that before.” His face was waiting for an answer, he was so intrigued about this man. Something about him was different, Kyete could tell. It was like a different sort of aura dwelled inside this man, but though it felt powerful and somewhat intimidating, Kyete only wanted to see more of it.
“Well...Let’s just say...I have a “special” sort of magic. Yes, that’ll do. And I’m just here out just like yourself, a nice morning stroll. However these boulders seemed like good testing subjects to see if I still got my spunk…” He began to look behind him, at the now crumbled remains of the boulder. “Well, it speaks for itself. Hmm...Tell me little one. What is it that you wish to do when you grow older? Find a nice girl? Or maybe that's a little too early for you to think about, how about opening a shop? Or even becoming a nice mage. What is it?” The man began to crouch to the ground at eye level to Kyete, and tilt his head out of curiosity. His blonde hair followed his movements, and blue eyes spoke the emotion of questioning to Kyete. At this level, Kyete was able to see a hammer attached to the man, it was on his side waist and just now becoming visible to him.
Kyete saw this as a challenge, to fully express what it is that he wished to fulfill in his lifetime. This obviously was a very interesting and unique man, maybe he was a luck enchanted person that would fulfill all of Kyete’s wishes, oh how that’ll be cool. With a confidence stance, and unwavering eyes, Kyete spoke of his dreams. “I want to become a powerful Mage! But not just any Mage, I want to change the world and make it for the better. Maybe I could be the superhero of the world and save the day from all crime and evil in this world, anywhere it lurks or hides. Or even be a laid back world hero who fights from the shadows and doesn’t show their true face. Either way though, I want to be powerful and make Fiore great, and have the world looked at like this big forest here. Full of opportunity, adventure, and unconditional bliss!!” After the end of his sentence, Kyete looked the man dead into his eyes, so far that it seemed as if he could actually witnessed a Storm of sorts in there. It caught Kyete off guard, and made him more focused in on that, rather then the events taking place now. He was brought back to reality by a chuckle from the man.
“Well, don’t we have a fighter here. I like your spunk kid, you got guts.” The man raised his hand to Kyete, and placed it on his shoulder. It caught Kyete off guard, but he stood his ground and allowed the man to do whatever he was doing, since he began to close his eyes and focus it seemed. After some moments, he finally opened them and grinned. “Seems like you got it kid. Well, if you really want to get powerful, how about I help you obtain that? You could take down any range of evil doers you talked about, and achieve unbelievable heights. I’ll even teach you about my “special” magic.” He looked at Kyete, standing up again to his full height, seeing that the end of these trails were coming to an end.
This was quite the offer to Kyete, one he surely could not refuse. The opportunity to do what that guy did to that rock, and then some. It really made Kyete happy and more excited then ever doing such a thing. It was an obvious choice. “Of course! This is so great I knew you were a luck enchanted man!” Kyete began jumping up for joy due to gaining a means of achieving his mission. He was extremely glad to be able to find this out of the blue, he felt like a really lucky person.
The man had a blank face from hearing that. He was weighing in all that just happened, then began to laugh once again. “Silly boy...I am not no luck enchanted man. I am a God. Get prepared, this road you’ve chosen to go through will not be an easy one. However tell me, young one. Why is it that I should train someone like you?” Thor began to laugh more, due to the thought of what Kyete believed him to be, and all that’s happened just out of the blue.
Kyete was feeling quite indifferent. A God? He was the student of a God now? “Hmm...Because when I do learn this magic and get older, I’ll battle you and defeat you, and be the one who defeated the God known as Thor. You’ll look up at me as the Hero you once knew as a little child, and have trained to defeat all evil in this world. I will defeat you!” Kyete looked Thor in the eyes with a defying type of look, and Thor gave off the same look himself.
After a few moments, Thor only looked at him and gave a smirk. “So be it boy...You’ve peaked my interest unlike any other. I feel like you’ll come out good, but not that good. Even with this Slayer magic, you won’t be able to defeat me. Only be a good challenge. Still though, I like your kick. I’m taking you on with your bargain.”
Whow what type of luck that is indeed, it really will be an interesting life up to becoming a powerful mage. The rest of the day featured the prerequisites before Thor and Kyete could truly take off with their training. Being just a little boy, Thor had enough decency to return him back to his home, and speak with his parents. Happily, they agreed to allowing all this which made Kyete extremely happy. Their training was to start tomorrow, the sooner the better.
Upon the next morning, Thor was already at Kyete’s house ready to take him on to the training ground meadow in order to fully begin their training. The walk there was very informative. Basically Thor gave he rundown of what magic he used and would be teaching, being God Slayer Magic. He informed Kyete of how he used specifically the Storm Slayer magic. It had to do with several different elements, all of which Kyete would have to learn in order to fully have Storm God Slayer Magic under his belt. He also explained the whole understanding of Slayer magic, and how their are different types. Kyete felt it to be a honor in order to soon hold such an unique and powerful magic, and to have met a guy like this out of nowhere. Along with the Slayer magic, Thor promised to get Kyete stronger in other aspects, in order to launch him in the correct direction to where he wished to go. While walking to the training grounds, Thor decided to bring up a rather odd matter to Kyete.
"Kyete, do you know why is it I wish to teach you the God Slayer magic?" His face was blank, and had no real edge to it. It seemed like casual talk to him.
However, it made Kyete think. He truly had no clue as to why he was being trained. "To be honest...I have no clue. Why Thor?"
Thor stopped walking and looked down at Kyete, who was beside him at the time. He observed Kyete, while Kyete did the same to Thor. It was a long pause of just staring at each other, until Thor finally spoke. "You boy, are a very interesting specimen. An Elf, who speaks as if he has centuries of wisdom and knowledge underneath his belt. You're already thinking about the overall good of your homeland, and to make things right in this world. No child your age, well not many think that way unless they're special. I feel like you can make a change here with the right tools, and I will be the one to give them off to you. And plus, you're a pretty cool kid." Thor finished his thought with a grin, and began walking again to the destination.
Kyete followed, but with an odd thought in mind. He never really thought about all that, he only assumed that other students his age thought such a way. Thor was obviously an extremely smart and wisdom filled man, so his hunch couldn't be wrong. However, Kyete just never saw it that way, and believed his acts and beliefs were what the average boy his age would do and think. But still, he took his word for it, and was glad to be such a special case to where he would be able to train with a God.
Thor was a very informative teacher. He wanted Kyete to get down every aspect of the topic at hand, and remember it for his lifetime. He was also very fierce, like his storms, and taught them as such. He was extremely kind to Kyete, honestly respecting him for being able to hold on for so long at such a young age and grasp so much. However he was rather impatient and wanted to see Kyete only improve and move on day by day, being rather rough and hard on him at times. Though this sudden change was only out of wanting to see Kyete grow stronger. That first day, he learned about what was in Storms other than the lightning he had witnessed Thor use. They finally reached the meadow, and Thor had Kyete sitting right in front of him, to have a quick lesson before the real show began.
“Alright, listen up Kyete. You are to learn the meaning behind Storm God Slaying magic. You will etch it into your core, think about it daily, and even dream of using it. I want this to be your main priority and nothing else. I want to see improvement and progress from you by the second. It is going to be extremely tough, and I want to see you succeed and learn everything you can before our time together is over. Do you understand?”
Kyete gave a simple nod, with his eyes flaring to continue on. He himself was impatient, wanting to see more of what was to come and the things he will learn. He was so excited to learn such an exclusive magic, the boy was squirming around where he sat begging to continue through his body language.
“Good. Now, Storms are not only lightning. No no no...They are much more. You will learn three elements from me. Yes, you heard me correctly, three. However, this comes at a price. You will be able to consume one of these three elements without any side effects, being either Lightning, Wind, or Water. I myself, along with being the God of Storms, am also the God of Lightning. Therefore, there is a good chance you will develop the main consumption of Lightning, however you are your own person and the abnormal could happen. We will find out with time. Now, we will train together for as long as it takes to, and you will become powerful as you so wish.”
And with that, they were off. Thor began the teachings necessary to give Kyete the powers to become a slayer, the Storm God Slayer. He first began with the basics of this magic however, because of course what else would a novice learn. Kyete was told to watch Thor’s example of all the elements Kyete could and will possess with time. Still sitting at where he was, Kyete watched as Thor walked good distance away from him, and started the example. Thor began to lift his hands, and a black cloud soon surfaced out of thin air, and began to ravage and produce loud and eerie noises. Soon after, it began raining in the area, a very rough and relentless one. After, with a sweep of his right arm, Thor produced strong winds that threw Kyete off of his bottom and a few feet away from Thor, landing in a bush. Soon after Kyete began to feel extremely cold, he was upside down in the bush and felt it on his head. Bringing himself upright, he witnessed what was a true storm. A vortex of wind surrounded Thor, barely being seen. The rain became more intense, almost beginning to hurt Kyete due to the force, and a continous amount of thunder was produced around Thor. It looked to be true pandamonium, such a sight only had Kyete with bigs eyes and jaw dropped. It went on for about another minute, until it died down and was all over. Once it stopped, Thor looked over and walked up to Kyete, witnessing his new position.
“Hm? Did you move while I was showing the power I can give you? Did you even watch?” Thor seemed to be unharmed or soaked from the events that just took place. He continued to stand tall, and hold out his hand in the process to help Kyete up.
Kyete accepted his hand, and got up to his feet, brushing off a few twigs and leafs, “Yup, I watched. It was very big, so big it knocked me off of my feet. Man can you please teach me all of that! I want to learn now! Come on I’m done messing around, lets get to the good stuff!!” Kyete’s impatience got the best and he knew it. He felt as if it came off as a bit rude to say such a thing, but Kyete was really ready to go. However this change in pace didn’t phase Thor, it only made him laugh.
“Theirs the spark im looking for. Alright then here’s what’s going to happen. You’re gonna train to unlock this Storm God Slayer Magic. First do know, since it is to defeat God’s it will look darker then the usual element, just like my lightning and what not. Now, look deep inside yourself, and picture the meaning of darkness in front of you. The sulky, corrupt darkness that can defy the light itself. Once you see it, I want you to think of it’s body wrapped in what you just saw me do. And go on from there.” The ending to Thor’s speech was rather vague, however he complied and did as he was told to do. He stood there, picturing such a image. He thought up a humanoid form of endless shadows, of true darkness, dancing with wind, water and thunder at the same time. Getting lost in this dance, Kyete felt like he could stay there forever, until a tight pain occurred from his stomach. It was unlike any other, and forced Kyete to break his trance and open his eyes, to Thor shoving his Storm infesting fist into Kyete. Before he knew it, Kyete was up against a tree that was behind him, falling to the ground. He looked up at Thor out of shock and terror, unknowing of what came over him. He only met a evil like grin with his look. His dark form of Storm was still conjured in his hand, holding it out.
“Well, you can’t defeat me if you can’t handle one of my punches Kyete. That wasn’t for nothing either. You should've seen this entity of sorts, with Storm around it. Look at my hand! This is what you saw, what hit you, and what entered your body. You must become one with the storms if you wish to have a chance becoming a God Slayer, or else it’s all over for you and your plan. Now, show off what you can do. Reach inside for that entity of yourself, and pull it forth into your fist.”
Kyete stood up, a little wobbly after what just happened. He was a little skeptical after that of Thor, but still kept the trust he had from the beginning. Though to be perfectly honest, he did feel a shift of sorts. That punch left a crack in his mental trance, he could barely see that entity of sorts in his head, but rather feel a power like what he was just hit by in him. Kyete brought up his hands, and began to bring out the magic inside him like any caster magic, thinking of the storms. And then, he was brought by a shock of lightning, and wind to come. It was weak, but something, bringing Kyete’s excitement through the roofs, achieving something like this.
“See? I told you. I wouldn’t do you wrong Kyete. Now this is where the training begins to see if you can truly defeat me and gain the power to do so. You will learn more, get more power from your Storms, and learn what element you can eat without any side effects. Now come on! We have much work to do.”
And with that, the training continued. Kyete began to learn how to call upon the Storms that inhabited him more easily and quickly, gaining power from them and learning how to truly do it. They spent basically every day together, learning more of the Storms and how to control them, the variety to what he could use and what not. It came to a point where Kyete truly slept of Storm magic. Him seeing the entity again, fighting side by side against storms themselves, in order to control their power and be rewarded. This dark entity and him soon became good friends in his dreams. Kyete also learned of the element he could eat without any side effects. It came to a surprise to both Thor and Kyete, on one very windy day. It was midday, the wind was so strong that the trees blown obviously one direction. Kyete was just beginning to test the elements and how to grow a liking of eating them, with his magic reaching that peak where he resembled more God then ever. He was coming along quite well, to Thor’s likings.
“The winds today are quite noticeable. Alright Kyete, we’ve already tried Lightning, and somehow, someway you gained side effects from it. Rather ironic, isn’t it? Me being the Lightning God as well, but my own student unable to consume it correctly. No matter, you should try this wind today. Keep in mind however, it’s the regular oxygen we breathe everyday, just with a current. Try not to get sick like last time from this. It held up the rest of our day!” Thor ended that speech with a bit of bite. He was really yearning to see what Kyete’s main element would be as well, overall surprised he didn’t achieve it through Lightning. However Kyete hated these means of seeing the element he had. It hurt a lot, the side effects he meaned. But still not for long, so Kyete went on with consuming the air and its particles inside it. He sucked it all up and ate it all, feeling the rushing boost that came. And felt absolutely no side effects. He was waiting for them to hit, however never came, much to both of their surprise. Kyete jumped for joy, yelling out of happiness that he got so far and was able to consume it. He got the approval from Thor and moved on. Then on, it was a smoove ride, Kyete learned things quicker and learned little tricks and what not, and gained more power acting like a God. Soon a whole year passed by, and the time was nearing.
After this year had passed, finally the day came where he was told by Thor to do the same action that brought them together, drill one of the meadow boulders with lightning, but add on to destroy two others with wind and water. Seeing this as his final test, Kyete moved up to a hand picked boulder by Thor. There, he began to focus and grasp at all of which he learned over the year he’s been under Thor’s wing. Then, he began to focus lightning magic into his hand, bringing forth an exponential amount of lightning raw magic power into his right hand. And with one swipe, he penetrated the boulder’s core and left a small crater from within, which soon crumbled to pieces and fell to the ground. But no, this wasn’t the end, being a Storm God Slayer, this was only one third’s of the power he could have. He also had wind and water left. Targeting another boulder in the area, Kyete focused wind magic into his full left arm and slashed the boulder a few meters off from the station he was at beforehand. It cut the boulder in half cleanly, indicating the wind mastery. And finally, the water element needed to be tested. A boulder which was to his right was the final target to victory. Raising his palm towards the boulder, Kyete unleashed a focused wave of water, concentrated into the dead center of the boulder. It hit it’s mark, and a pool of mud due to the water and rocks followed on the ground.
After all this, Kyete only looked towards Thor to see if this was sufficient. He was met with a sincere smile and nod, indicating the training to be a success.
“Wow Kyete. It’s been a whole year now, and you’ve gotten the Storm God Slayer magic underneath your belt. I'm happy for you, now you're one step closer to your ultimate goal. But remember, you can always improve and get stronger, so don’t stop training your magic and find ways to get better my student.” His hands were crossed still from spectating the display. Even so, his face was happy and lively.
“Yeah, I know right? It feels like just yesterday. Can’t believe I was able to learn such a sacred form of magic, really am glad for all this. And being able to get stronger to do what I can in this world..So what will you do now Thor?” Kyete was looking at Thor with an odd look, like he’s been thinking of this day before. However, he had no answers as to what could happen after his training was done.
“Now...Now. I must leave. I’ve given you all the necessary tools you’ll need to fend on your own and get more powerful. It’s up to you how you use it, though i trust you nonetheless. I feel like I've made a great choice in teaching you such magic. Now, I must head off to another area. Hopefully, our paths will cross again and I will see you years from now, stronger and where you wish to be. But until then, my student. Farewell. We will meet again, and have that battle you were talking about once and for all.” Thor was getting out his hammer, and beginning to raise it to the sky. He would use this to teleport and escape the scene, wherever his existence is needed.
“Goodbye, Sensei, God of Storms. Your student, the Storm God Slayer will due you proud. There's no need to worry about that, you just take care and visit me soon” Kyete was looking up to Thor as their final farewells, it seemed to be a very saddening and depressed time. However, Thor caught onto this and stopped it midway with a high laugh and messing up Kyete’s hair. This was a sign to say don’t worry, we will meet again. Just stay safe. And Kyete took this to heart. With a swing of his hammer, Thor disappeared with a roar of thunder, leaving behind his new creation, the Storm God Slayer.
